The ARTS
In 1968, the Atlantic City (NJ) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated hosted its first art show in celebration of Black History Month. Over the past 52 years the Chapter has presented an annual art show during Black History Month featuring well-known and emerging artists. The community has enjoyed the engaging and informative Artist Reception and local youth have participated in an annual Student Art Exhibition and Reception. Even during the 2021 global pandemic, the Atlantic City (NJ) Chapter continued its focus on the arts, producing two successful virtual shows.
The Arts facet has provided opportunities for local youth to participate in both a national Young Master Arts Program and a Poster Arts Contest. This has resulted in two consecutive first place poster art winners in the 4-6 grades category. The facet also supports the Atlantic City Arts Foundation and the Chicken Bone Beach Foundation. Through the work of the facet, the knowledge and appreciation among our youth and adults for the fine arts has been greatly enhanced.
